RythmoClip
FAQ
Everything people ask before they open the studio for the first time — and after.
Frequently asked questions
What is RythmoClip?
RythmoClip is a browser dubbing studio. You drop a video clip, pick the characters to recast, record your takes on a scrolling rythmo band, and export a file with the original voices you kept in place.
Is it free to use?
Yes. The full scene workflow — drop, trim, transcribe, cast, record, export — is free today. No card required.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The studio runs entirely in the browser. No desktop app, no plugin, no download.
What is a rythmo band?
A rythmo band is a timing guide used in professional dubbing. Lines scroll past you with the character name at the start so you speak with the mouth movement, not after reading. RythmoClip brings that into the browser.
What video formats does RythmoClip accept?
MP4, MKV, and MOV, up to 2 GB. Drop the file in New and trim the scene you want to work on.
What is the maximum file size?
2 GB for the dubbing studio. Free browser tools (compress, cut, resize…) have a separate 120 MB limit since they run locally.
Can I keep some original voices and only replace one character?
Yes. That is the core feature. You mark which characters to recast. Everyone else stays in the original audio mix.
Does RythmoClip use AI to generate voices?
No. AI is used for transcription only, to find and time the lines. Every performance is recorded by a real person.
Is the video picture modified during dubbing?
Never. RythmoClip only replaces the selected audio tracks. The visual frame is untouched from start to export.
Can several people record different characters on the same scene?
Yes. Each person logs in and records their character. The export combines all takes.
Do I need a professional microphone?
No. A headset or a built-in laptop microphone works to start. A decent USB microphone gives better results but is not required.
What does the free plan include exactly?
The full workflow: upload a clip, trim the scene, transcription, character selection, rythmo band recording, and export. No time limit on the trial.
When does the paid Studio plan launch?
When it is ready. Create an account if you want to be notified. We do not give fake launch dates.
Is RythmoClip an AI dubbing tool like Rask or ElevenLabs?
No. Those tools generate synthetic voices for every line. RythmoClip is a recording studio: your voice, your take, your choice of who to recast.
Is RythmoClip a video editor like CapCut or Premiere?
No. We do not cut, grade, or caption video. We replace selected voices on a scene. Think post-sync, not NLE.
Can I dub an anime episode?
Yes. Drop the episode (up to 2 GB), trim the scene you want to dub, pick the characters, and record on the rythmo band.
Can I make a fandub with friends?
Yes. Each person logs in and takes their character on the same scene. You do not need to share a single account.
Can I dub a YouTube video?
Yes, if you have the rights to dub it. Download the file first, then drop it in New. RythmoClip does not connect to YouTube directly.
What file do I get after export?
A video file with your recorded voices replacing the characters you selected and the original audio intact everywhere else.
Can I use RythmoClip on mobile?
The site opens on mobile but recording is optimised for desktop. A microphone and a laptop or desktop computer give the best results.
Which browsers work?
Chrome and Edge are the most reliable for microphone recording in the browser. Firefox works. Safari has limitations on some audio APIs.
Where are my scenes saved?
In your library, accessible from the navigation bar once you are logged in. Drafts, processing jobs, and finished studios are all there.
Can I delete a scene?
Yes. Open the library, find the scene, and delete it. The file is removed from the servers.
Do the free browser tools upload my video?
No. Compress, convert, cut, resize, crop, and GIF all run in the browser tab. Your file never leaves your machine.
What is the difference between free tools and the studio?
Free tools edit the file locally (compress, convert, cut, resize, crop, GIF). The studio replaces voices: it transcribes, separates, and lets you record on the rythmo band.
I uploaded a large clip and the Sign in button did nothing. Why?
This was a bug with large files and IndexedDB. It is fixed: the button now redirects to login immediately regardless of file size.
Can I sign in with Google?
Yes. Google sign-in is available on the login and signup pages.
Is my data sold or used to train AI?
No. Your clips are processed to run the dubbing workflow and stored in your library. We do not sell them or use them as a public training dataset.
